I teach Math at Rosemere High School.

I'm a graduate from Ottawa University's High School Education Program Specializing in Science, Mathematics, and Physical Education. I have been teaching since 2006 and believe education is very important.

I am happy to be back to at my alma mater teaching Mathematics for the 2015-2016 year. This year is going to be an exciting one!

I apologize for not being able to make it to curriculum night.
Let me tell you a bit about how I run my class.

Students will be required to take notes and complete assignments (aka homework) both in class and online. I do usually provide 10 to 15 minutes at the end of class for students to start their homework. Some students will have time to complete it in class while others do not.
(Note for grade 7: I require the use of agendas and will check that they have written down the homework each class)

I use a website called Math Help Services which will be introduced to the class in the next coming weeks. This site offers notes, videos, tutorials, and extra review questions. Each student will be given a login ID that will enable them to view all the pertinent material.

I also play a game with the students called Class Craft. Each student is given a character that has special powers they can use in class. Earning these powers takes time and positive behaviour in class (good test marks, completing assignments, helping others...)
The game does not take away from math class and I have found it to actually increase productivity of the students as they really want to earn the powers. Please feel free to browse their website for more information. www.classcraft.com
